JACC's Educational Playroom
In its attempt to best meet the needs of the African asylum-seeking community in Jerusalem, JACC has been developing its children’s educational playroom.
Thanks to the playroom, parents are come take classes at JACC while secure in the knowledge that their children are being taken care of.
Not only do these children’s activities benefit parents (specifically single mothers), but they are an equally wonderful opportunity for the children to meet and interact with peers and enjoy playing with the assortment of developmentally appropriate toys.
The children are particularly enthusiastic about coming to JACC since these weekly or bi-weekly meetings are a wonderful opportunity for them to dress up in the costumes generously donated by Jerusalem residents.
JACC’s devoted team of volunteers take opportunity to enrich and supplement the children’s activities with the playroom's educational games, art supplies, and books.
About 10 children, ranging in age from two to ten, take part each session.
