Understanding Israel's New Deposit Law

החל מהראשון למאי מעסיקים מחויבים לנכות 20% ממשכורת הבסיס של פליטים ומבקשי מקלט ולהפקיד אותם בחשבון בנק מיוחד אליו תהיה לעובדים גישה רק אחרי שיעזבו את הארץ. בנוסף לסכום זה המעסיק יפקיד גם %16 מצדו.

As of May 1st 2017, employers will be obligated to deduct 20% from the base salaries of refugees and asylum seekers to be deposited into a special vocational / pension fund that will only become accessible once a worker leaves Israel.

On top of this, employers will now be obligated to contribute an additional 16% to the fund.
