Introducing: JACC's English Chug!
These days, command of the English language is as big an asset as it's ever been. English skills are required in school, in work and also in order to find one's way around the new and developing cyber environment.
Therefore, we see great importance in providing the children of the JACC community with invaluable English skills.
Participating in this special initiative are children between the ages 9 and 13. While sometimes still struggling with Hebrew, learning English is definitely not an easy task.
However, Carolina, Ornit, Diana and Hailey managed to come up with a creative
mix of formal and informal teaching methodologies that make the lessons enriching but at the same time, fun and exciting.
Carolina, Ornit, Diana and Hailey use many different games, for example: "guess the picture" and "find the synonym", that encourage the children to study hard and actively participate in class.
"The parents are very content. English is such an important knowledge to acquire, for work and everything" says Hailey, "and we hope to see more children join this great program".
Indeed, this important initiative will surely help these children thrive.

שיעורי אנגלית לילדים
ידע בשפה האנגלית מהווה נכס חשוב היום יותר מתמיד. כישורי אנגלית נדרשים בבית הספר, במקום העבודה וכמובן בסביבה הטכנולוגית החדשה בה אנו חיים.
על כן, אנחנו רואים חשיבות גדולה במתן אפשרות לילדי הקהילה ללמוד מיומנויות שפה כבר מגיל צעיר.
המשתתפים ביוזמה חדשה זו הם ילדים בין הגילאים 9-13. בעוד חלקם עדיין מתמודדים עם קשיים בשפה העברית, אין ספק שלימודי אנגלית הם לא משימה פשוטה כלל וכלל.
כדי לסייע לילדים להתמודד עם קשיים אלו, קרולינה, אורנית, דיאנה והיילי בנו תכנית לימוד מיוחדת ויצירתית שהותאמה במיוחד עבורם. באמצעות שילוב בין לימוד פורמלי ולימוד בלתי פורמלי, הן הצליחו להפוך את השיעורים למלמדים ומעשירים, ובו בזמן, מהנים.
קרולינה, אורנית, דיאנה והיילי משתמשות במשחקים כמו "נחש מה התמונה" ו"מצא את המילה הנרדפת", שמדברנים את הילדים להיות מעורבים בנעשה בכיתה ומעודדים אותם ללמידה אקטיבית.
"ההורים מרוצים מאד. אנגלית היא שפה כל כך חשובה בימינו בכל מסגרת", אומרת היילי, "אנחנו מקווים לראות עוד ילדים מצטרפים בשנה הקרובה לתוכנית הנהדרת הזאת".
אין ספק שיוזמה חשובה זו תתרום לילדים רבות ותסייע לשגשוגם.
