The government recently canceled the "Unified Arrangement" for stateless children, which had enabled thousands of stateless children to receive health services.
The new regulations only apply to Eritreans, Sudanese, and Ukrainians, leaving children in the Ethiopian (Christian) community without health insurance if they do not transition within the designated timeframe.
We must emphasize that these regulations will make life even harder for the community. The insurance fee, which was previously capped at 240 NIS per family, will now be 140 NIS per child per month without a cap.
We are assessing how we can support the community and are in contact with all parties involved in the appeal against these regulations. We will keep you updated on any changes or developments.
The organization’s team is at the health clinics, helping the community transition between healthcare providers.
In light of the transition, we are including the main points of the regulations and resources to assist families in Jerusalem with the process.
